Overview

Genotyping on a medium to high-throughput scale is a powerful tool in animal and plant breeding. Our service offers marker (mainly SNPs and SSRs or microsatellites) development and application for public research projects as well as private breeding programs within a broad spectrum of both animal and plant species. For this purpose we have at our disposal a wide range of genotyping platforms.

Illumina BeadArray Reader

The Illumina BeadArray Reader is a two-chanel, confocal array scanner supporting rapid, sensitive and accurate imaging of Illumina BeadChips. It is a powerful tool to carry out high-throughput genotyping applications. Our service uses the Illumina Infinium High-Density (HD) Assay approach in this platform.

The chemistry of the Infinium assay, along with the extended portfolio of Illumina Infinium fixed content BeadChips in Agrigenomics and the possibility to design fully customized panels across any species, represents a powerful high-throughput solution for many genetic analysis applications.

The minimum processing scale for any commercial array with fixed content is 48 samples.

7900HT Real Time PCR system

The ABI PRISM 7900HT system is a real time PCR instrument designed for automated detection and quantification of nucleic acid by fluorescent PCR-related chemistries. 

Our platform is suitable for real-time, end-point, and dissociation curve analysis of assays arrayed on 96 well plates. Both, dye-based (e.g. SYBR Green) and probe-based (e.g. Taqman) qPCR detection methods are supported. Continuous wavelength detection from 500 to 660 nm allows the use of multiple fluorescent dyes in a single reaction.
