Nathan Pumplin is the CEO of Norfolk Healthy Produce, where he focuses on developing innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and high-quality food production while improving the environment and reducing inequities. With a strong background in plant molecular biology and genomics, he conducted postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich, supported by EMBO and Marie Curie fellowships, and published discoveries in epigenetics, RNA silencing, cell biology, and plant–virus interactions. He also worked as a Project Scientist at UC Davis, developing bioinformatics pipelines for rice breeding programs and contributing to the first octoploid strawberry genome. His career bridges basic science and industry with a strong commitment to innovation and leadership.
