Bruno Contreras-Moreira is a computational biologist specializing in plant genomics, phylogenomics, and structural bioinformatics. He currently leads the Computational and Structural Biology Lab as a tenured researcher at the Estación Experimental de Aula Dei – CSIC in Zaragoza, Spain. Previously, he served as Ensembl Plants Project Leader at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in the UK and held research positions at institutions such as UNAM in Mexico, Cancer Research UK, and the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología (CSIC).

His work focuses on pangenomes, transcriptional regulation, and protein comparative modelling, contributing to advancements in plant biology across Spain, the UK, and Mexico.
