II Fòrum BIB "Bioinformàtica i Ciència de Dades per a l'Agricultura del Futur"
Human and planetary health are linked, with food systems playing a key role. With a global population projected to reach 9.5 billion by 2050, we need a sustainable food system. Bioinformatics and data science are crucial for improving food production and decision-making. Key challenges include leveraging big data and AI, while addressing ethical and technological limits, to ensure positive impacts on health and the environment amid climate change. Key questions arise: What is the role of big data and AI in addressing these challenges? What are the technological, ethical, and legal limitations? And how can we ensure a positive impact on human and planetary health amid climate change, while considering industrial needs?
Objectives
At Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB) and the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG), our goal is to address these and other key questions in a forum that brings together representatives from businesses, public administrations, and research centers. The event will showcase successful case studies and explore the role of bioinformatics and data science in shaping the future of agri-food, its impact, and the sustainability of this new development model.
Target Audience
This edition of the BIB Forum is aimed at professionals from both the public and private sectors, as well as stakeholders in the agri-food and technology ecosystem, who are committed to fostering development and innovation in the industry.
