The Spanish Carotenoid Network (CaRed), coordinated by CSIC Associate Professor at CRAG Manuel Rodríguez-Concepción, includes 10 Spanish research groups dedicated to the study of carotenoids.

An important objective of CaRed is to disseminate the huge potential of carotenoids for the improvement of food quality and health. In this context, the event II Reunión Nacional sobre CAROTENOIDES en Microorganismos, Plantas, Alimentación y Salud, which will be held at the Zaidin Experimental Station (EEZ-CSIC) in Granada, Spain, on 7 and 8 November 2019, is a national meeting of academic specialists and young researchers in the field of carotenoids with representatives from the clinic and nutrition areas, as well as the industrial and business sector.
