This is the first annual lecture of a series of seminars in memory of CSIC researcher at CRAG María Coca, who passed away on March 22nd of 2021.

María Coca was an expert in the plant’s defence mechanisms against pathogenic fungi, a research field in which she made important contributions. More recently, she was also working intensively and successfully in plant biotechnology. With an easy-going personality and a great ability for teamwork, she had numerous collaborations with colleagues from CRAG and other centres. This special seminar's speaker is José Manuel Pardo, researcher at the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF) and former collaborator of María.

CRAG has opened a virtual space to express condolences and share memories of María Coca.
