News: CRAG “Severo Ochoa” Summer Internship Program for Undergraduate Students is Open for Applications
Ten undergraduate students will be able to spend four weeks at CRAG this summer
The Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) has recently opened the call for the second edition of its summer program for undergraduate students. This program is aimed at providing an introductory and practical formation in animal and plant molecular biology to undergraduate students with a genuine interest in the field of life sciences.
Ten undergraduate students from the European Union will have the chance to spend four weeks at CRAG this upcoming July. During these summer weeks, the students will become familiar with a broad variety of laboratory techniques and bioinformatics tools aimed to understand the structure, function and variation of plant and animal genomes.
Each fellow will be allocated in a scientific group at CRAG under the supervision of a principal investigator with the support of postdoc and/or experienced PhD students. She/He will be involved in a research project and will complete a brief experimental work to be presented in a program seminar at the end of the stage.
The Program includes training in transversal skills as bioinformatics, dissemination and project management given by CRAG members. In addition, fellows will be invited to attend weekly seminars organized by CRAG and presented by prestigious international scientist in the fields of plant and animal genetics.
The students from outside Barcelona will be housed free of charge in student accommodations, and their travel costs will be also booked and funded by CRAG.
Applications are accepted until the 31st of March 2019
