News: Researcher Dr.Reyes Benlloch has been awarded the L’Óreal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” prize
The CRAG postdoctoral researcher Dr. Reyes Benlloch wins the VIII edition of the Spanish edition of L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” with the value of fifteen thousand euros. Dr. Benlloch, a PhD from the Polytechnic University of Valenciais a recipient of an IntraEuropean Marie Curie Fellowship and is currently developing her postdoctoral project at CRAG in the laboratory of Dr.Paloma Más. Upon receiving this prestigious award, Dr. Benlloch stated that “this prizes recognizes the importance of plant basic research that sets today the foundations for tomorrow’s biotechnological applications”. With the L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” award Dr. Benlloch will study post-translational modifications that regulate photoreceptor function.
The L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” award is given annually to 5 young female researchers and aims at promoting women recognition in different scientific areas. In a year with a high number of applicants, Dr.Benlloch’s award recognizes the importance and quality of plant research developed at CRAG.
The L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” award ceremony will take place at the Real Casa de Correos in Madrid on the 14th of November.
