Once again, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow, Ana Beatriz Moreno, has offered an outreach activity to explain her science to high school students. This activity, which is offered to the education community through the Escolab platform, has been enjoyed this February by a group of 20 high school students from the Academia of Igualada.

The activity aims not only to communicate the project on plant defence mechanisms against virus, but also to promote scientific vocations, putting a special emphasis in the gender issues. To reach this aim, Moreno explained her professional trajectory as a researcher in various research institutions worldwide, and answered all the questions that the students raised on the scientific career path.

The activity also included a hands-on part, in which the students could try to inoculate the virus to the Nicotiana Benthamiana plants and track the protein expression with GFP. The activity ended with a visit to CRAG facilities, which included the confocal microscopy and the greenhouses.
