The Secret life of a Plant Biologist is a photographic project that disseminates plant biology research, while seeks to break the negative stereotypes associated with this job. The word “secret” is not because we have something to hide, but mainly because the broader public does not know exactly what we are doing and what we are in real life.
The project encompasses a photographic exhibition about the everyday life of young researchers inside and outside the laboratory, a series of interviews addressing myths and truths surrounding plant biologists, and a web page dedicated to the world of research in the field of plant biotechnology.
If you are interested in hosting the photographic exhibition at your high school during the 2021/22 school year, along with an informative talk for ESO students by a CRAG postdoctoral researcher, the registration period is open from the 6th to the 18th September 2021. Check the Catalan or Spanish translations for further details.
This project was designed and led in 2017 by postdoctoral researcher at CRAG Michela Osnato in collaboration with a photographer (Carla Sedini), an illustrator and a creative studio, with the collaboration of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología - Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and the Programa Centro de Excelencia Severo Ochoa - Agencia Estatal de Investigación.
